Last Sunday, mother and I were excited to cook something for an afternoon snack with our tea, so we decided to try out the Gits Khaman Dhokla ready to cook packet. We got this from the nearest grocery store during our last grocery haul.

The instructions on the box are easy and to the point, all you have to do is follow it to the T, to ensure the consistency and softness of the khaman dhokla.

We used our Idli cooker to prepare this and it was ready in less then 20 minutes.

To top it off, we added a jeera, rai, til (sesame seeds) and mirchi ka tadka to enhance the taste, and it worked.

Tadka time!

Since we like spicy food a lot – we also added leal mirchi as a topping to the tadka, to give it a nice colour.

Once its cooked and you have added the tadka, let it sit for 3-5 minutes, before you start cutting pieces out for your snacking.

I would recommend using the Gits Khaman packet, the next time you are looking to try out a soft and fluffy khaman to indulge in.
